Every project has its own identity.
My job is to understand it.

I work with filmmakers at different stages of the creative process — from early questions of story, structure and visual language to the materials that help a film find collaborators, financing and an audience.

Understand the filmmaker. Understand the work.
Be loyal to both.

how I work

STORY & CREATIVE CONSULTING

I work closely with filmmakers to understand the film they are trying to make — not the film I would make — and help identify what is essential to it, what isn’t working yet, and where the possibilities are.

The work can move between story, structure, character, tone, visual language and form. I can come in early while a project is still being discovered, work through a script or rough cut, or stay alongside a filmmaker as a long-term creative partner.

TREATMENTS + DECKS

A great deck doesn’t just explain a project. It allows someone else to see and feel the film before it exists.

Finding the visual tone and language of a project is one of my specialties. I work with filmmakers to identify what makes their film visually distinct and translate that into treatments, pitch decks and lookbooks that feel specific to the work — never like a template placed over it.

CREATIVE EDITORIAL

I also work editorially on select projects, particularly teasers, trailers and fundraising pieces where story, tone and visual language need to come together in a concise, compelling form.

“Kiki is my secret weapon at all phases of production. She has a broad range of skills: writing, design, editing, interpersonal ease..she is whip smart and a joy to collaborate with. She also has impeccable taste and can take bones of an idea or broad messy strokes of something and improve upon it 1000 fold. She makes every project better at all stages. Please don’t steal her.”
— Lisa Remington, Oscar-winning Producer "Only Girl in The Orchestra", "A Bend In The River", "Judy Chicago Untitled"

testimonials

“Kiki is a collaborator through and through. She has an exquisite eye and can visually design and define many different types of projects. What I love the absolute most about Kiki though, is not only does she bring her creative talents to the table, but she also supports and encourages mine in the process.”
— Susan Rickets from Darling Eleven, "B52's" Documentary
